I'm hearing rumors that the entire Power 94 lineup is about to get shifted around. Possibly a new syndicated morning show coming to town also?

Let me guess, Tom Joyner? The Tom Joyner Morning Show is already across the hall at WMPZ 93.5.

I think it is fair to say that we can attribute a lot of Power's recent demo success due to the addition of Cryin' Bryan Stone's work behind and on top of the board for Power 94. Bryan, especially in light of recent events like the Stallhorn Eight and the unfortunate happenings in Athens, has lobbied hard for equal access to the "white voice" on a station that has traditionally been Black owned and operated. We all remember the rather nasty business that took place at 93.5 a few summers ago when Bryan decided in his capacity as station manager to stop airing taped sermons on Sundays and tried to do remotes live every Sunday evening from various downtown churches.
In my opinion these things would most likely have happened: Pastors having to stop for commercial breaks, copyrighted church songs being muted so that Bryan could spin old Al Green spirituals, disruptive giveaways in the middle of church services...It was utter chaos. It was my opinion that Roy Jaynes would eventually (although it never happened) pull me aside and say something along the lines of "In my opinion he is a drunk that is out of control. In my opinion I half expect him to go flying down Gun Barrel Road in that rust-yellow AMC Pacer he owns."
But then out of the blue it was like Cryin' Stoned turned it all around. He was made Program Director over Keith Landecker, brought Misty Janke (remember her?) to do middays and the station saw some of its highest ratings in years.
